Now I’m not sure what I think of that. Part of me understands that they’re taking the church out into the world rather than waiting for people to come to them. That’s important and good.
But on the other hand, what makes us as a society in general too busy to stop and go to a service that starts the season of Lent. If it is important to our faith, it seems like we should make the effort. If we can give up chocolate for 40 days, or whatever people choose to deny themselves, can we give up an hour to reflect, pray and worship?
